Battery
A device that stores chemical energy and converts it into electrical energy to power electronic devices. Batteries are commonly used in portable electronics, electric vehicles, and backup power systems.
The stationary base structure of a robot arm that supports the first joint.
Bearing
A mechanical component used to reduce friction between surfaces.
Bionics
Also known as biomimetics, biognosis, biomimicry, or bionical creativity engineering, it is the application of biological methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems and modern technology.
Bipedal locomotion
The ability of a robot to walk on two legs.
Burn-In
A robot testing procedure where all components of the robot are operated continuously for an extended period of time. This is done to test movement, and movement programming of the robot at early stages to avoid malfunctions after deployment.
