Remote manipulator
A manipulator under direct human control, often used for work with hazardous materials.
Relay
An electronically operated switch that uses an electromagnet to mechanically operate a switch.
Resistor
A two-terminal electrical component that implements electrical resistance as a circuit element.
Robonaut
A development project conducted by NASA to create humanoid robots capable of using space tools and working in similar environments to suited astronauts.
Robot
A machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically, especially one programmable by a computer.
Robotics
The branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, and application of robots.
Rotary Encoder
An electro-mechanical device that converts the angular position or motion of a shaft or axle to an analog or digital code.
Run-Time
The period during which a program is running or being executed.
